Servants or sons

Dear friend. Let me share with you an important message from the book of Hebrews. Beginning from chapter one and examining each verse, we are going to see that the Messiah is the central message in this chapter.

V. 1-2. God, having in the past spoken to the fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, has at the end of these days spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds.

The book explains that the Messiah, Jesus originated from the Jewish people. When the Messiah came God spoke to us directly through Him instead of the prophets as was before in the Old Testament. He is also called the Son, whom God has appointed to be heir of all things in the entire universe. Because Jesus is the Son He receives the right to be the heir of all that God rules and has. Moreover, God also made the world and the entire universe through Him.

It means that our Messiah existed before the foundation of the world. He was there with God and God has made everything through Him. Here is the mystery. The Bible does not teach us that angels were involved in creation. Here we understand that our Messiah, Yeshua was involved as well as the Spirit of God (Ruach Ha Kodesh in Hebrew).

V. 3. Who being the radiance of His glory, the very image of His substance, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself made purification for our sins, sat down on the right the right hand of the Majesty on high.

Yeshua, the Messiah, is the very image of God’s Glory. This does not mean that Yeshua represents the actual image of God. He represents God’s attributes, or character. When Jesus was on earth and walked the land of Israel, humanity had a chance to know the character of God. If we would carefully study the life of Jesus through the Gospels, we would clearly see the character of the Father.

As mentioned before, Yeshua, our Messiah was with God before the foundation of the world. In this verse the Word of God teaches us that He came to the world to die for our sins and then return to heaven, where He came from to sit at the right hand of God. This prophecy was given to us centuries ago by King David in the 109th Psalm, where it says, The LORD said unto my Lord, "Sit at My right hand, until I make Your enemies Your footstool." Today Yeshua, Jesus our Messiah upholds all things by the Word of God’s Power. He is the Lord and nothing can change that!

V.4. Being made so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

How glorious it is to know that our Messiah and Savior is better than the angels! It says that Jesus obtained a more excellent name than the angels. What name or title is the Bible referring to? It is the Son. The angels are the servants in the house of God, yet the Son or sons have a completely different position. The inheritance goes to the sons. The sons are served by the servants and are over them. This principle can be applied to our victory over the enemy as well.

One time Lucifer was an arc angel in God’s house. Yet he rebelled against God and the Lord threw him down to earth. He became the devil and today is the great deceiver on planet earth. He is your enemy! But praise God because Yeshua, Jesus our Messiah, came and defeated him by paying the price for our sins. And not only that, but every one who accepts Jesus as their personal Savior and Messiah will be forgiven of their sins and automatically become children or the sons of God. That means that by accepting Jesus in our heart we receive the power and authority higher than the angels and the devil himself because he is a fallen angel.

My friend. Studying this chapter we have several important points:

- The Messiah Yeshua, Jesus came from the Jewish people

- He was with God before the foundation of the earth

- God has created everything through Him

- He has become God’s Son

- He came to redeem us from our sins by His death

- Jesus, Yeshua the Messiah gave us the victory over the devil

Let me encourage you to trust upon Yeshua. He is your answer today!
